Hi
This is a board I never expected to find myself on. On March 10, 2011 my husband and i had to make the hardest decision in our lives. After a long trouble ridden pregnancy at 23 weeks we had to terminate the pregnancy due to my cervix being to thin and the stitch not holding. The hospital wanted us to join their support group but i cant do it. So my question it...does it get easier? Does the pain ever lessen?

Re: Hi
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking for you. My situation is a little different but I lost a child as well. He lived for nine days. As far as it getting easier, it does. I am not going to lie, your grief will stay with you, but you will eventually be in a different place than you are now. It is a journey. One of the best things my husband and I did was joining a support group. We joined two, actually. One was monthly; the other one was a more intense weekly one. Support groups are helpful because these are really the only people that truly understand what you are going through. Of course, these things should be done in your own time. Take some time to be good to yourself as well. I was in a pattern of self punishment and this added to my pain. If you need to be alone; do it. If you want to confide in others do that as well. Try to surround yourself with people who are helpful; not everybody knows the best thing to do or say.
If you need to talk, I am here by FM!! So many hugs and prayers!!
