Reasonable, dependable laptops?
Can you suggest yours?
My mom has been hinting forever..and I thought me, my sister and brother can chip in for Mother's Day. Any suggestions?

As for brand I have a Compaq (which is owned by HP) and I love it.
I got mine at Best Buy and usually they have great deals in store and online.
I also recommend it because of the customer serivce aspect of it as well.
Dell and Acers aren't all that bad as well.

I had a Dell, I had an Hp, I had an Acer, and now I have a mac book and nothing compares to the Mac IMHO! But next to that was my HP!!! That baby is still a fighter.

I also recommend the Compaq if you are looking for something inexpensive and dependable. This is what I have now. I can't remember how much I paid for it but it was under $500.00 because I am cheap and on a budget.
Never had any issues and I've had it for about a year at this point.
I've also had HP and Dell in the past that died after several years and they weren't worthwhile to get fixed.

I got an HP Pavilion (dv6 serie) last Christmas. I just could not pay for the mac. It's a good laptop.
It was very reasonable!

i like dell and sony because you can get accident coverage and if kids around them it can make them last a lot longer
- no worries if dropped, banged on, juice spilled on them

the HP is the only computer ive had that i hated in 7 months i had to send it to them to be fixed 3 times...
I have had great experiences with Dell... im actually ordering my mom a Dell laptop today...
