Makeup Artist question
Is anyone on here a makeup artist who can offer some suggestions on getting in to the business? I am licensed and have a kit ready to go. My idea is to freelance and would like to do proms and bridal but can't figure out the best way to go about getting clients and marketing myself. Any ideas?

Re: Makeup Artist question
I would set up a simple website and do makeup on some friends so you have photos to post. Whenever I look for a MUA, I rely mostly on the internet and the photos I see there before deciding to contact that person. Other than that, entirely word of mouth, so use facebook so your friends know to promote you. Have business cards ready to go in your purse.
You might also want to do very reduced rates or no rates for the first few actual customers in exchange for getting a testimonial for a website, photos for the website, word-of-mouth goodwill on forums, etc.
