Can you not register on open market if you are not already a nyc teacher? I was trying to figure it out...but I don't have an employee id or number.

Open market is for transfers so if you are not a NYC teacher then you can't use it.

Oh, thank you so much! Is there any way I can look for positions that are open in the schools (website wise) in the city besides just going onto Open Market? Thanks! :)

I know you can apply through TEACHNYC. I am not sure if there is still a hiring freeze though. If you are licensed in a high need subject area it might be easier for you to get a job.
