Dentist in Suffolk
Does anyone have a dentist in Suffolk they LOVE? I like my current one but he's so far and it always takes so long to get an appointment and I'm really tired of dentists always trying to force me to have my wisdom teeth pulled when they're all grown in with no problems. Does every dentist do this or is there someone out there that isnt always pushing for that?

Dr. Fishman in Massapequa is wonderful! http://www.dentalexcellency.com/ I'm someone who has always hated the dentist, but I love her. She makes it relatively pain-free, and is very honest and up front. I'm having Invisalign done now, and so far I've been very happy with her and her staff.

Re: Dentist in Suffolk
I go to Gentle Dental in Port Jeff and I absofrickenlutely love them! The doctor and the hygienist are so sweet. I used to hate going to the dentist, never kept up on cleanings, etc. Because of this, and some work that needs fixing, I have a pretty long list of stuff that needs to be done. After my first visit, they gave me the list, as well as what it will cost me out of pocket, so that I have no surprises. They also don't make comments like my old place did. Last time I got a cleaning at my old dentist, the hygienist was like "well if you came more often this wouldn't hurt you so much. You caused this pain". At GD, they were like "you really should try to keep on schedule with cleanings, but the fact that you are here now is great, lets try and keep this up in the future". I've been on time with my cleanings ever since.
They have 5 different locations, and are open every day. Here is their website Gentle Dental

Re: Dentist in Suffolk
I use Sunset Dental in Patchogue. Very nice, professional and won't push the wisdom teeth removal on you unless you need it.

I see Dr Valentine in Stony Brook -- I LOVE him... I don't know his stance on wisdom teeth, but I have mine and he's never pressured me to take them out.

Re: Dentist in Suffolk
Dr. Paul Leary and Dr. Nancy Ciminera in Smithtown. My family has been using the practice for over 50 years. I just started taking my own kids there.
Dr. Leary never pushes the wisdom teeth. In fact, he filled a cavity in one of mine instead of trying to pull it. His theory is if it doesn't hurt than there is no reason to pull it.
