How do I make myself more marketable?

I am a teacher and want to start a new career in 2012 (between June and Sept.)

I am lucky to have the summer off and lucky to be able to take free college classes because of my DH's job.

So...any ideas for anything that would make me more marketable? I write very well (so I am told ) so I am leaning towards things like marketing/advertising/pr (I guess?) though I would love to write full time. But that's a long shot.

I am also open to computer classes, or regular community college classes, or anything, really. Any ideas are appreciated.

maybe try getting on a board for an organization in your community...to gain experience and network...DH just got on one for a local historical museum..it doesn't pay.

I forget what the exact term is called, but I know in this economy, they say when writing your resume, you have to play up your skills a lot more then places you have worked or volunteered.

Also if you have any experience with another language......this puts candidates ahead for so many positions.
