Spinoff - SANS SOUCI in Sea Cliff

If you have seen my other post - a family member is looking to have a party for 70-90 people. Their main concern is food and service. I posted this on LI Weddings as well but I know on there, brides are more sensitive to posting negative comments so I thought I would get the "real deal" on here. For those of you that have been - how is the food? Enough? Good? Service? Pros/Cons? TIA SO MUCH Chat Icon Chat Icon

I went to a wedding there almost 4 years ago -- the food was DELICIOUS!!!!!! Some of the best food I had at any wedding.

I don't recall anything particular about the service it must have been good.

The only con I can think of was there was no table service for bar drinks that I remember but I can't say if it's because I just noticed people going to the bar and followed suit or the server wasn't around when I wanted something and I helped myself.

It's a very nice place and the view is spectacular (I was even there on a rainy day).

Ii've only heard good things about Sans Souci. I do know that an old friend from high school got married there a few years ago -- and that her family is pretty particular when it comes to that sort of thing.

Hope this helps!

Re: Spinoff - SANS SOUCI in Sea Cliff

i got married there last year...i may be biased but i love the food and the atmosphere of sans souci. one con i think of the hall is if you plan on getting married there is if it rains. then i don't know how things would go inside.

we were lucky, it was a beautiful day, cocktail hour was outside and the service was wonderful. any other questions feel free to fm.

ETS: Whoops!! I didn't realize this was a party and not a wedding! Then definitely, if you pick them no worries! Nargis is fantastic Chat Icon

I looked to have my wedding there-grantedfor 100 people. We did not lik the setup. It is a little disjointed and strange. It is very pretty though. Never had the food

Re: Spinoff - SANS SOUCI in Sea Cliff

I went there for a wedding about 2 years ago, and liked it so much we looked at it for our wedding. I think it is the best food I have ever had at a wedding/catering hall event and the service was great.

DH didn't like it because of the way the CH was set up. They put up a movable wall between the dance floor and where the tables are for the reception. On the dance floor, they set up smaller tables and chairs, the carving stations and a few chafing dishes. they have passed trays of appetizers and then the rest of the CH food is in a seperate room. The bar is on one wall next to the dance floor. Then, when the CH is over, they open up the wall and clear everything off the dance floor. It didn't bother me because I really liked everything else about the place, there was a spectacular sunset and they have a huge window overlooking the harbor.

I thought it was a really nice place, but maybe not for more than 100 people. Someone else I know went to a wedding there and said it was very cramped - the wedding we went to was 100 people or less and I did not feel cramped at all.
