Because I have NOTHING else to do....
I would love to do a "cheat sheet" blog for parents of SN children.
Like local resources, EI, CSPE, how to prepare for meetings, support groups available, etc..
Essencially a centralized information center to find out what is available. Free and fee programs for SN kids.
Do you think that would be successful? Is there such a thing already?

i do think blogs are out there, but maybe not for the long island area, or at least i have not come across one, i think its a great idea. let me know if you start one and i will certainly follow it.
by the way, i am in such slow mo today it took me almost 10 min to figure out what SN stood for

I would love something like this. I keep thinking there are probably great resources I just don't know about, and being new in the process, it's a lot to take in at once.

I think this sounds like a great idea.
I am constantly trying to get my sister to come on here or some other message board for support or resources. I am always telling her what I have learned from you guys on this board.
Just yesterday, she was talking about how she needed a new psychologist for my nephew and QUICKLY b/c his prescription is almost up - I wish I could have just told her about a resource like what you are describing!
She doesn't "get" message boards.

There is or was a blog called rosiemom that had a list of all this information. I think she may have transferred it over to a meetup forum though.
