If you "wear" your baby

Can you recommend a carrier for an older infant? My 7 month old is two heavy for the bjorn, I think. And sometimes a single stroller with a toddler & a baby in a carrier is just so much easier.

Thanks!

Re: If you "wear" your baby

i'm a huge fan of the ergo. worked wonders with my ds, and you can wear it on your front, or back, and i think hip too. its structured, and soft sided. i used to walk miles and miles with ds in it. i'm not sure what the website is, but google the "ergo carrier"'

HTH!

Re: If you "wear" your baby

Go to Frogmama.com - Blissful recommended the site to me and they were amazing to work with. I emailed the owner directly, told her how big Tyler was - and what I wanted the carrier for. She went over the carriers and told me which would be best for my needs. There are SO many choices that it was beyond overwhelming.

I have the Boba and I wear Tyler on my back with it. I don't do it that often though because he's 31lbs now, and well, I'm not SuperwomanChat Icon

I use the moby with my 18 pound 6 month old and its great- he can look out, look at me, go on my back or hip- and it doesnt strain my back at all

I was thinking about either the Ergo or the Moby...the Moby might be too complicated for me. I'm lacking patience these days, you see. Chat Icon The Ergo looks like it might be my best bet, especially since I want it by Saturday. Nothing like the last minute, right? Otherwise, I'd totally give Frogmama a shot - it looks like they have everything!

Thanks for the suggestions, and if there are any others out there, I'm open!

Re: If you "wear" your baby

Moby is the best!! It looks more complicated than it really is, to be honest. It's a lot of fabric, so it seems a little overwhelming at first. When I got it, I found some youtube videos on how to do it, and I practiced while watching the video. Took me all of 5 minutes and then I was a pro! Never had to think about it again! It is soooo comfy for both mommy and baby! No strain on the back whatsoever!

I am thinking about getting the ergo too but I can't find it in store anywhere to try it out.

I agree about the moby....once you learn it's super easy. I used with with dd1 and now with dd2. She is 8 months and loves being in it when we shop.

Can someone give me a rundown of the Moby? How does it work? Is it going to be really hot in the summer?

I am wondering this too. I want to get something more comfortable for my 5 1/2 mth old son. The Bjorn is hurting my back.

Does it work well for an older baby too? Aa is 15 lbs right now.

I used the Moby when he was littler and the Ergo for when he was bigger.

It can get a little hot but, I used it in the summer. The Ergo sport is a little less thick and not so hot.

If you look here there are moby videos and picture. I found it to be hot but, I had the black one.. for the ergo too. Looking back.. I would order it online and wait for a lighter color.

Buy Buy Baby has it. They also have samples of most of the wraps to try on. I went through this too. I wanted it asap and I was so excited to see that I could try them on there.

See I went to Buy Buy Baby in Westbury this weekend and they didn't have it. Chat Icon I was surprised because I know that they always have everything in the store.

Ergo. DS is 19 months and I still occasionally carry him in it! I loved the Bjorn when he was small but it started to hurt when he got bigger. No pain with the Ergo at all.

I love my Moby wrap. I wore my DS when he was 9 months old, 19lbs, with no back pain or other problems.

I also use the Ergo with my 13 month old. She loves being close to Mommy. It's easy to adjust and take on and off. I always have it with me.

I also loving using my BabyHawk. I got to pick the fabrics for both sides so I LOVE it too, but that you have to tie instead of buckles. It is more comfortable though.
