Today's RE appointment.
Hi Ladies -- THank you all so much for your kind words. It really means so much to me.
Well we met with our RE today. He said that considering the quality of the eggs I do have left, I should consider DE. The quality and quantity are diminishing.
DH and I discussed and we think we will try another IVF, in September. In the meantime I must lose weight (famous last words but I really have to). If the outcome is as bad this time, then we will look into other options.
We are waiting to hear if my insurance will cover a second IVF.
DE runs about $24K. I am also not sure how I feel about this to be honest.
Adoption is also another option and is looking more and more likely. I guess we will discuss more in detail over the next few days or weeks.
In the meantime - DH took me to West End Cafe last night and I had 2 mojitos. And shrimp. And it was all yummy.... Tomorrow I will join WW again.

Like Lauren said, that is a lot to take in at one time.
Did you read Inconceivable? I can't help but think how the author of that book radically changed her diet, exercise habits and incorporated so many other techniques and she virtually turned her body around.
If I remember correctly, her doctor also advocated because of her high FSH to either use donor eggs or a surrogate.
I'm so sorry for the news Kara. Maybe you can take the summer to rededicate yourself and try again in September.

Take some time for you and DH, you don't have to make any decisions/choices right now.

Ugh- crappy news! I have faith that whatever road you choose you will be successful Kara. You seem really good at researching and working hard for things you want.

DE is donor egg.
Well we are taking a break until September since I have to wait to get all the meds. out of my body - and begin my "donate your left-over IVF drugs to me" campaign, lol!! I would start meds mid-August. So we are planning a few long weekends for the summer to just relax and have fun and oh yeah drink a little.
DH told me last night he definitely wants to try DE before moving on to adoption.

The only thing I can say is that it's good your RE is on top of things and honest with you. The donor egg may not be a bad thing, it's certainly about the same cost as adoption. It's also good that your DH is helping you out with this.
And if you are off for the summer you can relax and enjoy life for a while. We'll have to do a Mojito nite somewhere on the water .
You are always in my thoughts.
