driving with dogs?
Lately for some reason, I've been so paranoid driving with my pug in the car. He usually rides in the hatchback trunk so its open and he can see us over the back seat. Occasionally, we have his cage there, so he is in the cage. Is there a "safe" way to ride with the dog? The thought of getting into an accident and something happening to him kills me.
Also, he's been whining a lot lately when we drive- he didnt used to whine so much. I cant quite understand what's changed and how to get him to shush!! Any advice? TIA

Re: driving with dogs?
I always drive with my dog in the crate or in a doggie seat belt. As for the whining, are your sure he doesn't need to potty?

Re: driving with dogs?
I have 2 dogs seats for my dogs. They have buckles to attach them to the seat, so they are forced to sit or lay down (which they love laying down). Now the seat belt WILL NOT hold them in if there was a severe accident. But it does help keep them in place with short stops, slamming on the brakes, etc. And it keeps them in one safe place just for hte ride. I could not drive without my doggie seats.

Re: driving with dogs?
Luna wears a harness that the seat belt gets fed through. I pull the seat belt all the way out and then lock it into place tightly so she can sit or lay.
It keeps her in her spot and would keep her in place, though probably not free of injury if we were in an accident. I

Re: driving with dogs?
I have a pug and I have a doggie seat for her. She has been riding with me since she was a puppy with no issues in her seat. She loves it.
