Should we get passports?
We are going to be cursing out of NY for Xmas week. DH and I have passports, but they are both expired. Our kids don't have them. I know we don't need them for the cruise, but do you think I should get them anyway?

Yeah, definitely. Especially since you might only have to send it in to renew it.

I would get them and depending on what islands you are going to on the cruise you may need them. We always have to show our passports when we cruise before we board.

I think you just need photo id to get on/off in NY. You'd only need the passports if you are stopping at islands and even some of them, you don't need it, like the USVI.

YES get them now. They are changing the requirements soon and will be asking for much much more information on new passports.

I think you would definately need them if you want to get off in any ports. Better to be safe than sorry anyway!

We've left from Florida and CA and were required to show them both times. I dont know about NY

absolutely, without a doubt get them!
It's the best form of ID when you are traveling and you guarantee that you won't have any issues with stops at islands that might want to see the passport. Better safe than sorry.
