On-call/LIMITED p/t hourly positions

I am thinking of doing something like this, primarily to help build our savings back up after DH had a rough year in business last year.

I do work F/T though and I am also a mom of a 2.5 year old.

I probably could really only commit to a few shifts here and there.

I emailed my resume earlier to a couple human service agencies I saw advertised on Craigslist.

Does anyone else have any other kind of connections? I am in Western Suffolk County (South Shore) so would prefer something very close to home.

I am NOT interested in doing anything sales-related (i.e. Avon and the like), and I don't want to take on a position that ends up being many hours each week for the reasons I mentioned above.

Sorry to sound so picky but you guys are always so helpful with this kind of stuff.

Why not check with those companies that supply waitresses and such for parties? My brother does that and its generally weekends and its really kinda per diem.
