Delivering Twins

I met with my OB and high risk doctor today. I'm 34 weeks 2 days and both babies are head down. I was told today that I no longer have to have my cervical length checked or an fFN. I was also taken off of bed rest and can start moving / walking around again. I just have to see my OB weekly and have an NST / BPP.

What I'm nervous about is both doctors believe I'm going to make it to 38 weeks and can deliver these babies vaginally. I don't know if I'm going to make it that long but I'm so nervous about the delivery. My fear is having two different recoveries.

I was just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences. I'm so nervous. Chat Icon

Re: Delivering Twins

I delivered both babies vaginally at 36 weeks 6 days. Everything progressed on its own. I did sit on the yoga ball that weekend and took my daughter for a walk in the stroller. My whole labor was about an hour and a half and I was already 7 cm when I got to the hospital. I delivered about an hour and a half later. Both babies were head down and I pushed them both out in about 10 min. Baby B came 4 in after Baby A. I barely tore, only needed 2 stitches. They were both in the 5 lb range. I would highly recommend trying even if they come at 38 weeks! If both babies are head down you have a great chance of a vaginal delivery!

You made me feel so much better, Leslie...thank you!!

I'm hoping to make it to 36 weeks...I think 38 is pushing it! Both Chat Icon Chat Icon are around 5 pounds. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they both remain head down...I don't want baby B to flip.

Hope you are feeling good and you're enjoying your Chat Icon Chat Icon !
