am i setting myself up for disaster?

dds bday is next week. we are celebrating with our family on sunday. I had planned for us all to go to 56th fighters group for brunch on Sunday.
Now im re thinking it. i weigh in on wed. i dont want to go up,
now im thinking maybe doing it at apple bees or ruby tuesdays so i just order what i order and no buffet.
(the reason i picked those other choices was bc they are kid friendly and i know what to order)
am i setting myself up for disaster if we stay having it at the 56th and have all that buffet

I wouldn't stress yourself too much.

Personally, for me, I don't eat that much more from a buffet vs. ordering off a regular menu.

I also think a lot of the stuff that is on a buffet is more filling (carbs and such) so you get your first plate and then you really are full enough to go back for 2nds.

Re: am i setting myself up for disaster?

does the buffet have stations? What about getting an egg white omelette and having some fruit or something? Also any weight gain from that will most likely be gone by wednesday since it would be mainly water weight! no stress!

Re: am i setting myself up for disaster?

Use it as a challenge for youself- there are many instances in life where we can't control the food around us. Plan ahead and do the best you can. It's one day. If you end up going up a little Wednesday, you know why. Then you just move on, continue to do what you've been doing and lose the next week.

One thing I learned if you can't shut yourself out of the fun stuff for weight loss. There has to be a little compromise. One meal won't hurt you!

Re: am i setting myself up for disaster?

We were just away on vacation in Disney. We went to a couple of buffets. What I did was get a small plate of fruit first. I sat down and ate the fruit and then went back for the other food. The fruit filled me up enough that I didn't go crazy with all the other food. I still tried a little of everything but it was way less than I would have if I just got the regular food 1st.

Re: am i setting myself up for disaster?

thats what im thinking
fruit first than an omelette with egg white and veggies.
ill save some of my extra points for that day.
ok i feel much better.
it just hard to gain and than take another week to loose it.
