Nikon D3000 Help

I dont even know where to begin. What is the easiest way to just start using it? The battery is apparently charged and ready to go.

yes...my over the top birthday gift. Think I'll run to the bookstore later and pick up a copy. But if I wanted to just start taking pictures now?

Re: Nikon D3000 Help

I have the same & love it. Just set it to auto & start shooting. Chat Icon Takes really great pics, even in auto.

Then take one of Lexi Bella's beginner classes & you'll be good to go! Berger Bros. also offer classes.

Re: Nikon D3000 Help

Put it on auto, click the wheel to no flash (it's a lightning bolt with a line through it I think), go outside with your DS and start shooting. When you go to take the picture push the button half way down so it focuses and then push it all the way to actually take the picture. You can see what the camera is focusing on and what will be blurry in the background. You can move the camera around a little and keep pressing the button halfway to focus on something else in the frame... hope that makes sense.

Use it on Auto for now. No one likes this answer but the best way to learn is to read the manual.

What the pps said! Use it on auto for now. I actually took a class to learn to use mine on full manual.
