Allergies - feeling it in my chest
I am having the worst allergies lately.. there is poor ventillation at work and with the recent heat i actually had to leave work early today b/c i felt so sick...started out as my throat burning but as the past 2 days have gone on my chest even feels tight.. i took a zyrtec for the first time but not much relief..im thinking i should stick to benadrly?? i never gett his unless im around cats and there rno cats in sight..im miserable, claritin doesnt help at all.. should i see the dr or just try benadryl next time? is it even safe to take benadryl daily??

I am in the same boat.. I ended up with asthmatic bronchitis twice this year. I take Claratin for my allergies. Helps. But for the tightness in my chest, I needed an inhaler. I got asthmanex. Worked great...

Re: Allergies - feeling it in my chest
I have been having the same thing! That and nonstop coughing when I go to bed and when I wake up. It has been driving me nuts!
I called the dr and they told me that it is allergies, which I have never had before. They said that tons of people are complaining now who never had them before.
They told me to take Claritin not Claritin-D.
The first night I was worse....last night the 2nd night much better...we shall seee

Re: Allergies - feeling it in my chest
Hon, I'm experiencing allergies too, which cause my eustachian tubes to swell. Lot of hay being cut in Lancaster!!! I have been taking Benadryl at night, and I find that Airborne seems to help get rid of the congestion!!! Hope you feel better!!!! Mary

Your welcome, hon!!!! I usually take Benadryl all the time, every night, 25 mg. But I really see a difference when I take AIRBORNE. I know that AIRBORNE has Vit. C, and that's an anti-inflammatory agent. And it just seems my ears are open more if I take AIRBORNE every day!! Can't figure it out, but I know I feel better. Mary
