Emergency Code word - if someone needs to pick up DC
I was watching One Tree Hill (judge later). Anyway, Hailey needed someone to pick up her son. Her son didn't know the person that she could get to pick him up very well so he wouldn't go with them.
Anyway - when we were younger, my mom and I had a code word for such situations. We weren't allowed to go in the car w/ anyone unless they knew the code word.
My mom got into an accident and needed to send someone. It was before cell phones so it was a random stranger. She sent the stranger to the bus stop w/ the code word to go to a neighbors house.
I still remember the code word: Spaghetti.
Please consider a code-word for your family!

We do not have one because my kids school will not allow anyone other than someone on the "pick up list" to get my children, and even if someone is on the list, unless I give advance notice, they are NOT permitted to take my children.
So lets say I have my neighbor Mrs. Smith on my "safe list", unless I send in a note saying that "Mrs. Smith" is getting them today, she is not permitted to take them.

It's not for school though... It can be used when your child is riding a bike, playing on the play ground, walking to a friends house, waiting for a bus.

I do not have a code word cause when we did my son told his friends. While it might work for some it does not work for us. BUT My son does know all the people who could pick him up and that only includes one neighbor or a family member. He knows never to get in the car with anyone else unless I specifically tell him before hand.

I had one growing up. My son will have one too. The school is VERY strict about their pick-up policies though, which is great.
