Are bassinets a waste?
I registered for two bassinets for my twins and I'm hearing lately that a lot of babies don't like them. My DH and I were wondering if we should return them and get two swings and/or two FP Rock Play Sleepers. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Are bassinets a waste?
Instead of bassinets we had both of them sleep in a pack n play in our room. It worked out well. The only problem is the top part weight limit is 15 lbs so you little may hit that weight fast! So then you have to bend over to put them in. Jack and Avery were not a fan of the bassinet we had in our living room. I hear great things about FP Rock play sleepers too but the thing I liked about the pack n play was is it was the closest to a crib and we had no issues transitioning to the crib.
As far as the swings I would start with one and if both boys love it then get one. We are doing fine with just one
hth...feel good

Re: Are bassinets a waste?
J and I like the idea of the pack-n-play as a good transition to the crib (I didn't even think of that!). I think we're going to return the two bassinets and get one swing and one rock-n-play sleeper. I'm sure these boys will have plenty of options!!
Thanks, J!!

Re: Are bassinets a waste?
IMO YES.... but my kids went right into their cribs when they came home from the hospital....they took their naps in the cribs and slept at night in the cribs....But you have to do what works for you...

Re: Are bassinets a waste?
I am due in the end of July and also registered for FP Rock n Plays instead of Bassinets. I figured they were more functional.

Re: Are bassinets a waste?
I did get an eddie bauer bassinet from Once upon a child & was going to register for a 2nd one. I like the idea of putting them right into a crib although it wont fit in my room. It's so confusing.....

Re: Are bassinets a waste?
I don't think they are. We bought one and borrowed the other from my brother. They slept in them for months in our bedroom...I miss those days sometimes
