Your thoughts please?
My cousins wife gave me a pump before my child was born (2 1/2 years ago) and that she had used with her child that's now 4 1/2. (She wants no more children) I wasn't thrilled about using a used pump but talked to my dr and he said it was fine. I find out later that she had let someone else use it between herself and me. I used the pump for 13 months, by the end the pump was loosing suction.
Recently I was talking to an old friend, and she was complaining about how hard it was hand expressing milk for her little one, and I told about the pump, it's history, & condition. She said she would be THRILLED to have it. So I had DH drop it in the mail, but it never made it 
Cousin's wife just sent an email saying that she wanted pump back so she could pass it on to a friend.
It was a Medela PISA advanced. I feel bad, I had NO idea she would want it back, but not sure what I should do now!
What would your response be? Would you offer her money? If so how much?

unfortunately not sure you have a choice.. you should tell her what happened and offer her the money..

I wouldn't offer her money UNLESS she was expecting it back but if she GAVE it to you because she was done with needing it then to me it's fair game to pass along to someone else. I don't know, seems silly to give her money for something she's done with and didn't need or want anymore. KWIM? I would just explain you were going to lend it to someone else and it was lost in the mail. Needless to say, I think she got her money's worth by having 3 people use it!

After thinking about it, I agree with this. If she gave it to you and said she wasn't planning on more children, I'd be very  that she's asking for it back now for another person. I'd let her know what happened and see what she says.

I would tell her that I was sorry but I didn't know she wanted it back so you were lending it to someone else & then explain it got lost in the mail.
BUT I would definitely offer to get her another one - even if it was a used one. (I would think she'd decline, but be prepared she may not).
