Re: Whale Watching

Montauk -- not sure of price tho. Also Provincetown (Cape Cod), Maine...lots of places, but I think MOntauk is the closest.

We went out of Newburyport, MA (north of Boston). In '98 it was about $25 a person, but even if it cost twice that I'd do it again. It was an amazing experience.

Re: Whale Watching

DH LIVES for this! We went out of Boston - I think it was about $37 per person. They took us out about 90 minutes before stopping to watch the whales.

Montauk and I think down in Cape May, NJ

We've also gone grey whale watching in Guerro Negro Mexico where the females give birth. That's totally different. You go out on these small little motor boats (they look like rowboats), the whales come right up to you and the babies like to be pet. That was an amazing once in a life time experience being out in the wild like that and touching a wild whale.

I went about 5 years ago off Montauk. Just as we'd pulled away from the dock (so we couldn't get our money back Chat Icon ) they told us that it's been very warm in our waters and they aren't coming this far south. Maybe if you call Atlantis they can tell you if the whales are swimming in our area or if you need to head further north.
