Kindergarten options in Npt-ENpt

Does anyone have an opinion on St. Paul's, Trinity, Bellerose Avenue with the after-school SCOPE option on Laurel Avenue, or the Learning Experience?

Thanks in advance!

My coworker used St Paul's and was very happy.

My nephew is starting K this year, they looked into scope, but the hours didn't work for them. They are doing full day K at The Learning Experience.

Tutor Time might have K enrichment as well (on Larkfield)

I've heard good things about St. Pauls and Trinity. You might want to look into Holy Family in Commack as well - they have busing and after care as well. My DD went there for Kindergarten and we LOVED it

I've heard great things about St. Paul's. Most of my dd's friends went to the pre-school there.

Trinity Regional School - hate, hate, hate the principal. Loved my son's teacher (who told me she was leaving because of the way the principal handled the situation with my son, so she may not be there any longer). Others had mixed things to say about the other kindergarten teachers (one was good. the other not good). We pulled him out of the school after a very bad experience. To be honest, in terms of top notch learning, Trinity was great. If you have a child with any type of issues - spirited, ADD, ADHD, or a very sensitive child, I'd stay away from Trinity.

For the before/after SCOPE program at Laurel, I thought it was pretty good. We did SCOPE mornings, then kindergarten, then the after school SCOPE at the school (FTWM here). DS & DD both went. What I liked about it is they met kids from their own elementary school, along with kids that will be in the middle school & high school. They do a lot of art projects, writing, reading. It is NOT as intense as Trinity. They also loved riding the bus (we're walkers).

So I would say it depends on what you're looking for.

If it's curriculum, I think Trinity is probably stronger over St. Paul's.

If it's socialization & cost, SCOPE is the way to go unless you are opting to put them in Catholic for the rest of their school years.

I went to Bellerose Avenue as a kid, and I still know a lot of the teachers there. It was, and still is, an amazing, special place. Just had tochime in with that. Good luck!

Re: Kindergarten options in Npt-ENpt

my nephew went to st. paul's this year for kindergarten. both his parents are teachers and thought it was great. (one great thing with this option is you get door to door bus service)

my sister and I checked out trinity last year - didn't like the principal, very pushy. (we live too close and DS would not get a bus - this would not work out)

Learning Experience - i only know people who send their kids there for daycare but they love it. If i remember correctly is was very $$ for kindergarten (do they bus?)

scope extended kindergarten.... this is what my son will be doing this up coming September. Laurel Ave. in the AM than off to his home school. I will drop him off in the AM and go straight to work. My mom will be able to get him off the bus in the afternoon so I do not need to put him in the scope after school program.

scope has a limited number of spots open. i believe its 40 spots in the AM and 40 spots in the PM.

Thanks so much everyone! We've checked out St. Paul's, and we're going to look at Trinity. Right now I'm leaning towards Bellerose/Scope. I really appreciate everyone's input. Thanks again.
