Which job would you choose?

1. Current Job- been there for several years; started as lowest position but worked way up to managerial position (highest position). Salary will increase in a few months by 10K; insurance is paid by employee. Owners are laid back but jerks. Very low morale. Very friendly with co-workers but will now be their boss. Position involves dealing with other people's drama, administrative duties, as well as original duties. 10 minute commute. Will increase to 40-45 if we move further east.

2. New job - new office, new company (it's a new subsidiary of another company), family business (if new company doesn't take off, a job would still be available at original company), salary is comparable to salary at current job before the raise, 100% employer paid insurance for me & DH, will run office but won't really have anyone to answer to or "boss" anyone. 10 minute commute. Will increase to 25-35 if we move further east.

I've made my decision but I'm just curious to see what anyone else in my position would do.

If the salary is comparable and the benefits are paid, I would definitely take the new job. I hate dealing with people's drama.

I know it can be hard leaving your comfort zone but new job for sure IMO! Even if it is 10k less than what your new salary will be with the promo, it probably balances out bc of the insurance.

Thanks everyone! I am going with the new job!! I met with them tonight and we begin August 1st!
