Growing pains?
Does anyone else's child go through this? Every few months we'll have a really rough night with Alex, like last night, where she wakes up every 30 minutes crying that her legs hurt.
I vividly remember when I was her age and I had the same thing - I would wake up in SUCH incredible pain, and my mom would literally massage my calves, and put a heating pad on them, until the pain went away.
I don't know if it's leg cramps, growing pains, or what... any ideas?

I also remember this as a child, I would be hysterical because of the pain, DD had an episode once and it was the same. She woke up in the middle of the night screaming her legs hurt, I had to massage them for a while for her to calm down.

Re: Growing pains?
OMG this is so weird.....last night Damien was up crying that it hurts inside his legs. He kept saying my bones, my bones. I was going to ask about growing pains too!

Re: Growing pains?
Sounds weird, but give her bananas. She probably needs potassium

Re: Growing pains?
My DS getgs these everfy few months, for a couple nights in a row. Massaging and Motrin do the trick.

Re: Growing pains?
Ok, well, glad to know it isn't just our freaky little family. Funny that something should mention potassium - I was tested years ago for dizzy spells and it turned out I have a potassium deficiency, which may explain why I got these awful leg pains as a child, and may indicate that Alex inherited from me!

Re: Growing pains?
DD gets these on a regular basis, though it has died down a lot this past year. She'll be 7 next week. The only thing that helps her is Motrin.

Re: Growing pains?
My DS who is 4.5 years old gets them alot. It's been like over a year. We give him Tylenol and he goes right back within half an hour.

Re: Growing pains?
I need to show this thread to DH. He thinks DS is imagining it, but I tell DS that it's growing pains. DS has accepted it, but now maybe DH will be willing to let him have a pain killer
