Fetal echocardiogram
I went for my level II yesterday and we found out our twins are . Everything looked great except the amniotic fluid level was a little high for both --so now I have to get a fetal echocardiogram to make sure everything's okay. They said this was pretty common in multiples and that I shouldn't worry. Yeah, right. Like I'm not going to worry! Before I start googling and freaking out... did any of you have excess fluid and/or have to have a fetal echocardiogram? Thanks!

Re: Fetal echocardiogram
i had to have one at around that same time. it takes a pretty long time and its easy to get freaked out bc they are very thorough. thankfully everything turned out ok. try not to stress out and worry just yet - im sure its nothing. they are just being cautious!
good luck

Re: Fetal echocardiogram
Yes, I found out at my Level 2 that one of the babies had a 2-vessel umbilical cord and because of that I needed the fetal echo. It takes a looong time so try not to be nervous if yours takes long. The same baby also had extra fluid which we had to monitor closely at the end and had tons of sonos and biophysical profiles. He ended up being born perfectly healthy.

Re: Fetal echocardiogram
Congratulations on your !!! When I went for my level II they couldn't get a good picture of Baby B's heart so they wanted me to go for a fetal echiocardiogram. I was also really nervous but it is just like a regular sonogram. I actually had to go back for a 2nd echiocardiogram because Baby B was in a position that was hard to see the complete heart. There is a sono tech who takes all the pictures and then the dr. comes in to look at the pictures. I know it is hard to do, but try not to be nervous and good luck!!!
Forgot to mention: Both babies were born perfectly fine!!!!
