anyone have an apico done before?

I was referred to an oral surgeon to get an apico done where they cut into your gum and plug in an old root canal... has anyone ever gotten this done before? I wanted to know if you go under anethesia completely (would i need someone to drive me home?) and also what the pain and swelling is like the next day. So far the only day I could schedule it (due to me having to be at work pretty much all month) was a friday afternoon in a few weeks, where I would have a wedding the very next day.. i'm just concerned i'd have massive swelling but wanted to get other's experiences! thanks!

I had it many years ago. I didn't have excessive swelling. It hurt the next day, but by just looking at me you couldn't tell I had a procedure.

Unfortunately I can't remember if I was fully knocked out - I do remember have hubby with me but that doesnt mean that I was fully knocked out.

No they don't knock you out, just a little novacaine in the srea. It's actually a pretty easy procedure
