22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

Is this just "normal" for a multiples pregnancy?

I have a short cervix & had a cerclage at 17 weeks. I've been on modified activity since 16 weeks.

Walking hurts. Sitting for long periods of time hurts. Rolling over from one side to the other in bed or on the couch hurts. The pain even wakes me up in my sleep.

Its not just aches ... actually a shooting/stabbing pain down there.

I don't think its round ligament, its not at the bikini line, its much lower and kind of a pulling feeling inside too.

I told my Dr. at my last appointment, but they don't seem concerned at all.

Did anyone else feel this way while pregnant?

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

I will be 23 weeks tomorrow and I've been extremely uncomfortable lately.

If I lay down too long I get these sharp pains down below.

If I sit up, I feel tons of pressure and have a hard time eating sitting up.

Sleep is not my friend any longer, because I can't find a comfortable postition. I was up this morning at 3am-5am.

I'm so thankful being pregnant with twins, but it's definitely difficult at times.

Thank you so much for commiserating with me!

I feel so blessed to be expecting Chat Icon Chat Icon, and while I may whine to my hubby about going to the bathroom every 1.5 hours and tell him to ask them to please move away from my sciatic nerve ... those are things I expected and figure just come with the territory.

I just didn't expect so much pain this early on.

I'm not happy you're so uncomfortable too ... but I feel a little better knowing I'm not alone!

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

You ladies make me feel a little better. I'm 19 w and uncomfortable, nothing crazy, but a few of my friends are in the same week range with 1 and can do anything they want. I'm soooooo tired all the time, my ankles and feet are HUGE every day and I have this pulled muscle in my stomach. Sitting for any length of time bothers me, standing is out of the question. Like you both said i am so happy to be having Chat Icon Chat Icon , I just didnt think i would feel like this now.

Thanks for listening. and feel good!

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

I am only 20 weeks and am extremely uncomfortable. My back kills me all the time, my belly is sore and hurts no matter of I am sitting/standing/laying down. I just always feel like my whole body hurts.

I asked my dr in my appt the other night and she said unfortunately it is normal with twins bc everything is just stretching and growing so much faster and you have a lot more going on in your body. She felt my belly and said at 20 weeks my uterus was the size of a singleton preggo at 26 weeks.

I know it is just gonna continue to get worse which I am not looking forward to but at least I have you ladies who can relate!!

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

I can relate. I cannot stand for long periods of time, like more than 10 minutes. Walking is better than standing still. It feels like someone is ripping my stomach muscles. Laying down is my favorite thing to do! Chat Icon But at night, I find it hard to roll over.

When I went to the Dr last week (19 weeks), she said I have the belly of a singleton at 31 weeks Chat Icon
That was just CRAZY to me. I wonder what I will look like at the end???

Wow - seems like many of us are feeling the same way! This summer is going to be brutal!!!!

And to think I hesitated in starting this thread last night. I'm really glad I did, I think we all needed to vent it out to people who are going through the same.

Ryan - You're measuring 31 weeks!? Chat Icon Are you still able to work?

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

Girls the only words of advice that i have for you is rest as much as you can. I was always measuring 10-12 weeks ahead size wise. I was 20 week measuring about 31 weeks (carrying a singlton) and it was hard. They day I had the girls they told me that i was measuring 45 weeks preggo. I WAS HUGE!

Sleeping on my couch from 4 months preggo and having my Jojo's head logged loooooowwwww in my hooha since I was about 20 weeks. The pressure was unreal BUT anytime I got a chance to i rested and it helped SO much.
Dont think that u can be superwoman carrying multiples. Yes I worked till I was 31 weeks BUT I sit at my job so it was easier to do. believe it or not once i stopped working I felt SO much better all around on a day to day basis.

I hope time flies for all of you!!!! and you start to feel relief soon.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

Good to hear I am not alone. I am almost 17 weeks and wow I am so tired all the time. I get weird pains here or there and just cannot sleep comfortably. I slept on my couch the other night and that helped but last night went back into my bed and I did not sleep well again. I guess my couch will be my new friend. I am so happy I am having twins but it is tough. I am hoping to make it to 30 weeks for work. I commute 2 hours into the city so it is hard sitting on the train for so long. Thankfully my walk to my office is about 4 minutes well it was now it is about 10 minutes lol.

I am 25 weeks, and I am starting to get uncomfortable too.Chat Icon I also started getting pins and needles and then losing feeling in my hands and legs, even when I am not sleeping on them.

I am on modified bed rest now, so no more working for me. I had a 1 1/5 hr commute each way and worked in a brownstone that i ran up and down every 20 min so it became too much. The resting def helps. I am just scared I am going to get HUGE with really no exercise.

Re: 22 weeks and sooooo uncomfortable already

Ladies, I don't know what carrying multiples is like, but I had a thought, reading about the issues with sleeping. When I was pregnant, with one of our kids, toward the end, and not sleeping, we had company, and the dear lady, upon hearing how I couldn't sleep, massaged both my feet. I slept like a baby that night!! I realize that with carrying multiples, this
might not help, but I thought I'd mention it anyway; Might be worth a try!!! Chat Icon Mary

LOL, that was 3 weeks ago! I am telling the Dr that I am out of work as of tomorrow. I am already on light duty and can't do it. Hope you had a great holiday weekend and everyone is feeling better.
