Wow...I'm going to pass this info to someone close to me who has been suffering from frequent UTIs for the last year or so. I know that she too has bad allergies and is constantly taking meds (not sure which ones though).
Thanks for posting this. I'm glad you got some answers and hope you feel better.

In 2006 i had 26 UTI's, in 2008 I had 21 and in 2008 I had about 20. They could never figure out why just kept putting me on antibiotics and pyridiam for the pain and frquency. They sais some women are just prone to housing bacteria. I always kept a box of AZO (OTC UTI pain releif) in my car, the house, my purse and a blister packet in my pockets in case any symptoms ever started and then i would call the doc. Believe or not my pregnancy with DD, i had 1 and in the subsequent 2 years since having DD i have had maybe 3. They don't know why but whatever was wrong the pregnancy and delivery seemed to correct it. I felt attached to antibiotics, AZO and cranberry juice for years.

Thank you for posting these links.
I used to have chronic UTIs, they would never go away.... it was a several year long battle. Finally, my doc put me on Macrobid 100mg everyday. I take it as a preventative and I haven't had a UTI in 2 years.

Ugh- I have one right now! It feels like someone kicked me in my kidneys- the pain is getting better, I am on antibiotics and drinking so much water, and 100 pure unsweetened cranberry juice- I feel like since I am drinking so much I am going to float away!!!!! I am living in the bathroom. It was pretty scary, all of a sudden I had blood - sorry if TMI. Now I am nervous they did a urinalyisis- on the comouter and dipped it, it came back w/ an infection, aside from the obvious when they send it out to the lab to check for the infection is there anything else they check for? I am just a worry wart!!!!!
