Negative Result-Still Pregnant??

Hello Ladies...

I recently have had all pregnant-like symptoms (dizziness, nausea, change in taste buds, TOTAL FATIGUE, and of course missed period), but the pregnancy test showed up negative (urine and blood). My doctor said because I was on the depoprovera shot I could have negative results and still be pregnant for a while.

Have any of you had negative results and still be pregnant? Have any of you gotten pregnant after the depo shot? If so, how did you find out you actually were pregnant??

I have never heard of a blood test being wrong, but I guess if the Dr. said it could.

what did they tell you to do from here?

Ask your doctor which blood test he did, there are two, quantatative and qualatative.

The quantatative is a beta with a number...if the number is anything above a 5 ...then you are considered "pregnant".

If your doctor did a qualatative blood test, then the results come back ...positive or negative...and I believe the qualatative blood will only say positive if your hcg is over 25.

(Perhaps this is what your doctor was referring to).

However, from all the woman I have known who have taken depo provera, it took them many cycles ...for their bodies to become regulated again.

my gf swore she was prego but the test and blood test said she was negative.... turns out she was prego with twins...apparently it wouldn't pick it up on her bc of that? totally confusing to me, but thats her story.

I have a similar outcome for myself!
I started Clomid on days 3-7 last month and and almost 2 weeks late now, with 5 negative hpt's! I went to the doctors today for a blood test and am hoping that will tell me. He said if it comes up negative, then i should take (provera?) and gave me a prescription to start my period again! My worry is that if it's too early to tell and I am pregnant then wouldn't that little prescription abort the pregnancy? I've never heard of Clomid stopping your period from coming, thats why I think I may be pg. What happened with your situation?

I am on a similar boat.....

Now, this is the problem......My AF is usually every 28 days, always on time....this month AF didn't show up yet....I am 6 days late....I do have tender breasts and some pregnancy symptoms. (or they could be AF)..but I did take the HPT today and it was BFN.....I am very confused....(last AF was 5/10)...

Could I be pregnant and not produce enough hormones to show on a pregnancy test??

Please advice...if AF don't show up in a few days, I will go to the doctor...

Well enough time has passed and with blood test after blood test its still a BFN. I will be starting Clomid next month. Still no period. Good luck ladies! Hope you turn out better than I did!

I really started to TTC a year ago i didn't get preggo till after the depo shot was out of my system and that this passed march and i preggo in april and then i had a m/c in may.
But it does take awhile for the depo to get out of your system to become preggo.
My friend had the same probelm as i did and she got preggo after a year the depo was out of her system.


But does see werid that the blood test is coming up neg they are always right.
But who know now ah days.
