The Gap on Austin Street (in Forest Hills, since you say you are traveling from Queens) had maternity clothes last time I was in there.

I don't know about that particular Gap...but, another I have been to did not have an impressive maternity section. I wouldn't have made a special trip to the store.

The Gap on 34th street does have a maternity section - it is small but they have some stuff. Not everything you see online. I never had luck with them but I know people who did.

Also if you go to 34 -there are 2 motherhoods, 2 h&M's and one Old Navy - all within a couple block radius - all which carry maternity clothes. I work a few blocks from there so I did most of my maternity clothes shopping in those stores.

Very few Gaps carry maternity - per the website the only NY ones that does is 34th street. I know the outlet in NJ does too.

motherhood is on 34th between 5th and 6th ave, and there is also one in the manhattan mall which on 32nd and broadway (around the corner from 34th st). Old navy is on 34th between b'way and 7th ave.

Re: gap on 34th street in NYC

my problem is i cant find anything right now. Im going to be 3 months next week and im not showing but my pants are all tight and need clothes for work thats business casual without giving away that im pregnant. Im not telling my manager for another month and quite honestly since im showing dont need to wear clothes that look like they belong to someone else. I went to Kohl and Target and did not like the selection there. There is an old navy in huntington that has maternity but they have a limited selection. I dont want to break my budget on clothes that I wont use very long. Any suggestions would be great. I work in Long Island City, NY (queens) and live on the island (Huntington) Thanks

Then I would definitely go to Old Navy. I like their selection of things better and you can't beat it for the price. However, I'm not sure how many things they have there for work...if you can wear capri's then you'll find plenty.

Also the source mall has an Old Navy, motherhood combo store and H&M. I never found anything at Target or Kohls. I found H&M had a lot of stuff that didn't look as maternity but it was stretch so everything kind of shows...for me that was good because I was growing at first everywhere but the belly.

I didn't tell anyone at work until I was much further along (besides a few key people)...like 20somthing weeks...But I think most maternity clothes made me look pregnant -once you start wearing maternity clothes I feel there is no hiding it - even when you get some non-traditional looking maternity clothes. For me maternity clothes did not fit well even though my regular clothes stopped fitting. I would up buying clothes a size or two bigger and they lasted me from like week 11 until about week 22+ or so...esp my work stuff. I found wearing dark clothes, low rise, blazers all hid it well...even after I wasn't trying to hide it. I wore my first maternity shirt to work at 22 weeks and it looked very modern and I barely had a bellly and that day more than one person figured it out. I guess it all depends on how you are growing.

Re: gap on 34th street in NYC

i work low rise old navy strech capris and they are so big on me. Im wearing a belt and hopeing my husband shrinks the heck out of them because he does for evrything else. thanks for the advice. I would like to hold off of wearing shirts until i show but I do need looser pants and should just get one size bigger that I wear now to hold me over. i am worried about telling my boss and his reaction to why i didnt tell him sooner but if i wait unti september when he comes in i will be 5 1/2 months and am worried I will pop before I see him and someone at work will tell him. im hopeing he will let me work from home p/t after having the baby but want to be smart about things plus i have a promo coming up since january that is in the works and dont want to be overlooked.

the old navy on Hillside Avenue has maternity clothes. Now is the time to go because Old Navy has great sales. So does the Gap,
