Lactose intolerant toddlers?
My daughter is 2.5 years old and I think she may be lactose intolerant. I am, my mom is and so is her 8 year old cousin. She's been having diarrhea after her bedtime milk for a few days.
Is there anyway to treat this? What do you do about milk and dairy?
Thanks.

Try Lactaid milk or soy milk.

Re: Lactose intolerant toddlers?
My sons started right after I transitioned to whole milk at age 1. They got more stomach cramps and pain. I went to soy milk and they were fine. I would start there and see if it make a difference.
My sons can handle some milk products and food cooked with milk. I minimize cheese (I use to use lactaid american cheese but can't find it anymore and they don't like many other cheeses that we have tried which are lactose free. Cabot's shredded montery jack they love and is lactose free) and use soy yogurt and puddings. I keep lactaid ice cream in the house for regular ice cream for them but they do eat ice cream at parties or on occasion and sometimes it effects them and other times it does not. Depends on how much they eat.

Re: Lactose intolerant toddlers?
My DS is lactose sensitive. He can eat some products with lactose in small doses but, he can't have regular milk.
We give him lactaid and it's been wonderful - like pp's DC, he had severe stomach pains and was miserable and up a good chunk of the night.
