EI?
DS is 18 months still has no words, very little babbling and gets very anxious when we aren't home or with more than a few people.
I had EI come and evaluate him. They sent a SP, OT and a psychologist.
I got the evaluation reports without speaking with anyone, and it said in numerous areas "PDD-NOS". Its on the autism spectrum. They NEVER mentioned it at the evaluations so to read it in black and white out of nowhere it brought me to tears.
I spoke with the EI consultant and she apologized for blindsiding me with it but that my DS exhibits numerous traits of PDD-NOS. So he is going to get a teacher, ST and OT.
My question is for those who have had EI for their kids did they diagnose them with something and it turned out they didnt have it???
I just feel that I KNOW my DS and I don't feel he has this.
I am going to accept all services they suggest: - OT 2-3 times a week for about 30-60 mins each day - Speech 4-5 times a week for 30-60 mins each day - ABA 5 times a week for 3-4 hours each day.
He is starting Moms and Tots with me 2 days a week for 90 mins at our elem. school so they said that could help too.

Re: EI?
I answered your thread on parenting, but wanted to say - did they bring up the possibility of a half day classroom program for him, or just ABA? He might have to be 2 for the classroom programs, but it's something to think or ask about moving ahead.

Re: EI?
just wanted to give hugs about getting that initial report! We felt blindsided until the psychologist called and explained it to us. They should have a number that you can call immediately when you get it!
