Do you have a coloring/craft station set up at your house?
I was thinking about setting up some sort of craft/coloring area for my 3 year old. Before my younger DS was mobile I left the coloring stuff out, but now he is into everything so I am trying to think of another way to set it up. We have a easel, but I am thinking more of an area to do coloring/gluing/cutting etc.

funny you should mention this i just went to michael's and stocked up on crafty stuff. this is what i got:
kid scissors construction paper white drawing paper paint brushes water color paints tempera paints pipe cleaners pom pom's foam stickers glue washable markers
i bought stackable plastic bins at the dollar store and i'm going to put them on a hight shelf in our play room so that she can see them and ask me to take stuff down for her when she wants to make stuff. i dont want to put that stuff out for her to get at whenever she pleases because i know my house will be destroyed! i also got out a craft book from the library for some ideas on different preschool friendly projects to make! fyi...target dollar bins have a lot of plastic storage containers right now and a ton of back to school stuff, including stickers! i think i might have to go back and get some :)

Re: Do you have a coloring/craft station set up at your house?
She has an art type desk I got from a garage sale my coworker was having. Its angled and has 4 slots for crayons, brushes, etc and the desk lifts up to put paper underneath. She set it up in our kitchen (tho I had it in the livingroom)
Llike PP we have
Construction paper Glue Pom Poms Foam stickers Regular stickers Gem stickers Ribbons Tissue paper in various colors Washable Crayons and Markers galore.
I have yet to buy her scissors.
We do not have a real ‘separate’ area just for crafts. She has a table set up in our kitchen (where a kitchen table would go actually) and its her size. It has two chairs and we’ll sit and do projects there. Or I’ll move it into our back porch and we’ll sit outside. We last did a birdhouse she painted herself. I covered it in newspaper and let her have at it.
Lately though, she prefers our dining room table because she likes to sit in the big chairs. So we clear it off, I grab the craft bag and we do a craft. Then I put it all away. She loves crafts and would probably go through all my supplies in one afternoon if I let her. Instead, I limit it to just one project a weekend.
We have a Zen Board (think aquadoodle but more expensive - ha) which uses water that dries away the image you've drawn (got it way back when Discovery still had a store in the mall) so she loves to use her paint brush.
I think its time we consider an easel
