Grieve Taxes - Suffolk County
Hi Ladies. Does anyone have any experience with Grieving Taxes in Suffolk County. I'm not sure if this is possible for us but our taxes seem awfully high and I just came to find out that our neighbor pays 4,000 less than us a year.
What would be the requirements?
Can you recommend anyone?
Thank you

Re: Grieve Taxes - Suffolk County
which township are you in
generally - there is a two week window you can file in May (this is huntington for sure) and that is based on what the house is worth for the july the year before - you need an appraisal close to that time or home sale - then you find out in sept. Most are denied and you need to appeal -it is easy also - i had mail mediation and took their offer and had lowered my taxes by over $2000 -which was below my neighbors
