35w 6d 4cm 100% effaced

I went to the dr on Monday and I will be 36 weeks tomorrow.. turns out that I am 4cm 100% effaced and he said I have a "bulging bag" so he told me he wanted to send me over to the hospital for a few hours of monitoring.. a few hours turned to 8 hours and I got another exam by a resident and everything is still the same.

Here we are Wed morning and I'm still admitted at the hospital, haven't had another exam (they don't want to aggravate the cervix they say) and I'm told I probably won't go home for awhile b/c he doesn't want me to go home and my water breaks.. I live less than 10 mins from the hosp.. have a small apt with no steps, no other children.. I could stay in bed at home the same way I can here.. plus at home I could actually sleep and not be agitated and stressed like I am here.

I feel like I could stay this way for another week or so.. basically my question is.. has anyone else been this dilated for a long time?

i was like that with my first DS at 32 weeks (2 cm & 90% effaced or something like that). didnt end up delivering him until 38 weeks.
but being that you are almost 36 weeks i can see why your drs dont want to take any chances and send you home (since you can very well have them any day now). with the twins i had a cerclage put in at 15 weeks so i wasnt too worried about dilating, but my water broke at 35 wks 5 days. i delivered them w/in 2 hours...i was in active labor almost immediately after my water broke. (i was on bed rest for 20 week and had contractions on/off though).

hey!! I hope you are feeling well.
I was 80% effaced and 1-11/2 cm dilaed from 31 weeks with my twins (even with a cerclage)
I was put on bed rest at home from 31 weeks until 35 weeks and then afte rthat they told me I can be on modified bed rest cuz even if I did go into labor it would be fine. My girls were big enough..
I ended up having my girls at 36 weeks and 3 days and they were great weights and dint need the NICU at all. Twin A was 5lbs 13oz and twin B was 5lbs and 7oz.

I think its great that u have made it this far!!!

So the dr says I can't go home until I deliver.. BOO.. I'm so curious if they are going to hang on all the way until my c-section date or if they are going to come early..

I never had any preterm labor signs with either of my pregnancies.

But my OB (for the twins) wanted me to make it to 36 weeks. Once I did he wanted me to go to 38 weeks. I split the difference and delivered 37w2d. The girls were 4lbs 12oz and 6lbs. Neither went to the NICU and we all went home together.

Hopefully you can hang on a little bit longer!! You are doing great so far!!

GOOD luck!! I'd say you'll go soon but your very far along, I wouldnt worry at all!!

My girls were born at 34.5 weeks and spent approx. a week in the NICU....but were very healthy overall. Many 36 week twins go home with the moms!

Try not to stress too much!
I delivered exactly @ 36 weeks. That's really not THAT early for twins.

At least you know that the babies will be safe at the hospital----the drs will keep monitoring them.

Hopefully they'll be able to cook a little longer, but I know you'll do great either way!

Well I'm now 36w 1 day and haven't had any change in dilation or any contractions.. hopefully these girls keep on cooking!!!
