Free Fun on LI
Hey all.
My wife and I have been going to free concerts a lot this summer and find them to be awesome!
We've seen:
Mad Co & Desert Highway, Dr. Ks MoTown Review and Songs in the Attic at the Jones Beach Shell Theater and That 70's Band in Holbrook.
We love these lawn chair shows and every week it seems family/friends want to join us. We usually bring snacks and drinks and make a fun night out of it.
Anybody know of other concerts (who, when, where)? Friday & Saturday work for us.
What else can we do on a weekend night? Any ideas for free (peaceful, relaxing, family friendly) fun? Preferably stuff we can do with our family/ friends outside?

The Town of Babylon is doing an outdoor concert series with some shows that you might like: TOB Concerts
Unfortunately, my DH doesn't like the Psychedelic Furs so I'll be doing that one with my friends lol

Jones Beach bandshell always has free rock coverbands on Friday nights during the summer

Smithtown has them right across the street from Nappertandys. I think this Thursday is a Rod Stewart tribute band.

Nope!  It's Fri. 8/5 at 7:30pm (at Tanner Park).

Nope! It's Fri. 8/5 at 7:30pm (at Tanner Park).

Thursday Nights in Smithtown they have free concerts. They are so good. They had Big Shot already and a Motown group. Tons of people go. I think they said the big shot show had over 6000 people.

What type of Music is Psychedelic Furs?
Personally, I enjoy so many different genres of music that the band does not matter. I just love the atmosphere at these concerts and just sitting outside at night with my wife and friends. The Jones Beach concerts are my favorite because they're on the water and I love (love love love) driving on Ocean Pkwy.

80's alternative. I'll have to mention this one to DH. 
Eisenhower Park also has free concerts:

We saw a Billy Joel cover band there a few weeks ago. Its was a lot of fun. We had DS (almost 2 years) and he loved being able to dance around!
