Please don't move! - Yankee Stadium seating for kids?

Since I've never been to a Yankee game, even at the old stadium, I am clueless as to how it is visually to be at the game? What are the "bad" seats and what are the "good" seats for little kids to be sitting at? We want to take the boys but can't afford the good seats. We can basically only afford the cheap seats but I'm worried they won't be able to see anything?

Every year we want to take them to a Yankees game when we come up to NY but after the cost of traveling up there, etc. we never have the money for decent seats so we never bother going. We really want their first baseball game experience to be a good memborable one. Chat Icon What do you suggest?

There are NO bad seats at any of the stadiums and the best thing about it is that you can buy pretty crappy seats and then just venture around and few the games from pretty much anywhere

Really? I'm so worried that the boys won't see anything?

Can you recommend any decent sections in the stadium?

And the problem is that my DH would be too scared to "venture" around the stadium. He's a wuss (sp?)! Chat Icon

ETA: It will be Me, my DH, 7, 5 and 9 month old. It would be hard to move around right?

Why would he be scared? There's nothing to be scared about and I recommend that you get there a few hours earlier to see the museum (it's free) and also monument park.. the kids will love that.. you can also pack your own lunch and eat at any of the designated seating areas in the stadium, although there are a ton of choices as to where to eat.

if you want, send me some choices and I can tell you but in all honesty, they have made these stadiums now in a way that you can see the game just fine from pretty much any seat

He's a wuss when it comes to anything like that. When we were dating I got backstage passes for my DH since he was big into playing guitar to meet Steve Vai and Joe Satriani at Jones Beach (my dad grew up with the Vai family), and let me tell you, he wouldn't go near them. I could not believe it. He was sooo onervous or something! Chat Icon Let's just say that I didn't let it go to waste and I have pics of me and all of them backstage! Chat Icon

Anyway, I just didn't want to be too high up, or too far back or too far to the side, etc. Chat Icon The boys are little so I just don't want them missing out. Chat Icon

That's section 300 right? you can see the entire field..

go to the yankees.com site and you can actually click on the seat and see the actual view from that seat.

You def cant get a bad seat... but with the kids id recommend NOT sitting in the bleachers. Direct sun and loud obnoxious people... who are the BEST to sit with when you dont have kids with you! I sat there once when DS's were 3 and 1 and they slept in our laps! I go for any seats in the 200's or 300's :)

All seats are great seats and the new stadium is incredibly visitor friendly. Of course, not matter where you sit - there is no stopping the jerks from being there. The "a-hole" chants (directed as visiting team's fans) happen in every section and I have sat in nearly every section at some point or another.

The old stadium was cramped and although historic, was not visitor friendly. The new stadium is such a better experience since you can walk around and see the action on the field. As far as sight lines, there are no bad seats. Some of the upper deck seats may miss a small amount of action in the corners, but minimal at most.

The right field bleachers are a great experience if you can get seats. The famed "bleacher creature" seats where the roll call takes place are usually high energy! But anywhere you sit, walk around and watch the game from the different areas (lunch counters allow this).
