Can anyone explain what exactly that would be?
i take it to mean that the statute of limitations was set to expire so in order to preserve their rights, a suit needed to be filed.

I just read that Jackie Hance filed a suit last week against the estate of Diane schuler. This is going to be a big mess.

what rights? sorry im dumb
in order to sue the state of new york, you have to file your suit within a certain amount of time or else your claim is forever barred (with some exceptions for good cause shown). so in other words, the "right" to sue the state. their rights as minors need to be protected.
oh, so its not in reference to why in the world they are suing him- just in reference to protecting their right to sue. ugh.
