baby sleeping on tummy
DS is almost 4 months old and he has mastered rolling from his back to his tummy in like 1 second flat, my only concern is that he does this at night and I find him sleeping on his tummy with his head to the side.
Should I be concerned? I mean he is obviously more comfy sleeping this way bc I keep finding him like that, I'm just nervous about it.

I think if he can put him in that position that it is fine. My DS has not rolled yet but that is the thought process I am going with.

Re: baby sleeping on tummy
DS is 4 1/2 months and is doing this also. A few weeks ago I woke up to him on his belly with his head turned in the morning. Now last night He would roll over and then cry because he woke up on his stomach and didn't want to be. I had been swaddling just his leags bc we are trying to break the swaddle and bc it keeps his body warm in the AC, but I guess now we will do no swaddle and hopefully he will either stay sleeping on his belly or roll back over.

we stopped swaddling and put him in a sleep sack, gives him plenty of leg room to roll back and forth, the swaddle was too confining on his legs once he started to roll.

Re: baby sleeping on tummy
My DD is a belly sleeper. It sounds like your DC will be ok since he is strong enough to roll and puts his head to the side

Re: baby sleeping on tummy
as long as they are strong enough to roll they are strong enough to know when they need to move to get air or be comfy!

same here....she sleeps better and is just more comfortable. we just stopped with the sack cause it's hot and we only have a fan in her room.

Re: baby sleeping on tummy
My ped said its fine if they put themselves into that position but that shouldn't lay them down that way till they are bigger.
At 16 months my son rolls over onto his belly within seconds of me putting him down.
