May be induced tomorrow!!

I will be 39 weeks on Friday. This is my second baby. I've been only 1 cm dilated for past 2 weeks, but baby is very low. Dr. and I discussed possibly inducing after tomorrow's appointment if I'm more dilated.

I'm having a hard time describing my emotions... I have a strange calm over me, but I'm also scared of the labor and delivery that I was looking forward to experiencing again up until this point. I'm very emotional and cry at everything. It was the last time I put put my 4 year old to bed before his baby brother is born. He's so excited, but I'm afraid about how the adjustment will go... He's had all of my attention for the past 4 years...

Anyway, thanks for listening... just needed to vent.

Aww! I know... emotions run the gamut towards the end. For me, you can throw "missing being pregnant" in there! As sucky as it's been, I will miss it!

I'm in the same boat as you (with the same doc). I'm 38 weeks and have been 1cm for the past 2 appts. Doc offered that if nothing has happened by my next appt on tuesday, he would give me the option of inducing that thursday. I'm so torn, but am leaning against it since there is no medical reason for it. As much as I want my baby to be here and as uncomfortable as I am, I might just let nature take its course.

I know what you mean about emotional though. I'm crying at everything and can't look at my son without bursting into tears sometimes. He's been our world for almost 3 years and I'm feeling crazy guilty about taking that away from him. You're not alone.

We are almost in the same boat. DS is also 4 and I can tell you, he is much happier having a little brother. He has another person's attention. He runs home after school just to see him. And now that he's 3 weeks old, the little guy is starting to react to him and things are already getting more fun. It also makes the newborn boring time fly faster because ODS is entertaining him...he doesn't realize that he's an eating pooping sleeping blob. haha
