question about when to have shower
We are pregnant with twins. My edd is Feb 11, but Dr. says she won't let me go later than Jan 24 (38 weeks). I'm hoping I make it that long! I just finished my first trimester and my mom's already talking about my shower.... lol....
We have the holidays, potential rough winter weather, and likely bedrest to contend with. There's a good chance I'll be on bedrest. That being said, she thinks the last week of October/1st week of November is a good time. I'll be 27 weeks November 12th...
Do you think that's too early? I know people usually wait til later, but if we wait longer, we'll be approaching Thanksgiving, holiday parties, and Christmas.

I think thats fine, you will already be in your third trimester and better early than late and you potentially missing it!

Re: question about when to have shower
I just went to a shower this weekend for a friend who's 28wks and she's a singleton. Another had one at around the same time and she is also a singleton and it was good, bc a week later she was put on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy.

Re: question about when to have shower
I am having mine in Oct and I'm due mid January. Its a bit early but the holidays get nuts and I don't want to add my shower to everyones holiday stress.

Re: question about when to have shower
27 weeks with twins is definitely a good time to have the shower!
Mine was planned for 28 weeks since we knew it would be risky to do it later bc of the potential of bedrest or the babies coming early. We figured it would give me time to get everything ready for the babies.
unfortunately, I am currently 26 weeks and have been in the hospital the past 2 weeks on bedrest and will be here for a few more weeks so my mom had to cancel my shower

Re: question about when to have shower
I had the same question a few weeks ago because I am due Feb 2nd and worried about having the shower during the busy holidays too. I am going to have it two weeks before Thanksgiving most likely (or not at all) I think I will be 28 weeks then.
Congrats!

Re: question about when to have shower
Yeah I think it's fine..I'm due 2/6, I'm not planning my shower, but my mom already said "Jeeze, what a difficult time to plan...We either have to do right before the holiday season, in the midst of all the holidays, or less than a month from your due date!!! none of these times are really ideal!!" lol
so who knows when she'll do it, but it's potentially going to be early november, and I'm not having twins

Re: question about when to have shower
I think because of the holidays it's fine. It's hard for people to do holidays and parties. You're better off doing it early.
