Anyone own a cricut machine?

I do. It's very easy to use. The only upkeep is replacing blades and cutting mats...both of which are pretty inexpensive. Plus of course the cartridges which vary in price.

The speed of the cuts will depend on how intricate your design is. A circle will cut in 15 seconds but I have cut more intricate designs that take over 20 minutes.

The only thing I don't like about it is that you can only cut files from the cartridges. There are some third party software companies that used to have cricut drivers but due to some copyright issues were forced to remove the drivers from the software. These programs let users cut letters from any true type font and SVG files which you can get online (free or for usually small fees). There might be a work around but I don't know how it works. Make the Cut is the program if you want to check their website for solutions if you are interested in this option.

Thanks for the info. So if I wanted to cut 20 apples out for my classroom, that would be fast?

Yes, something like a bunch of apples should cut pretty quickly.

Can you cut out those vinyl wall sticker things with it? Where do you get the sticker paper from?

Yes, you can. I know you can get the vinyl on eBay & Ohmycrafts.com I am not sure about buying it locally but I never looked.

Love, Love, Love my cricut. I can't craft without it. I have 2 - a babybug and an expression.

You can get vinyl at Michaels but you may be able to get it cheaper somewhere else because you can't use coupons on PC items at Michael's. Maybe Joanns.

I bought some on Amazon because it was the cheapest place I found it.
