Why am I so hungry?
I am trying to decrease the amount of processed foods I eat and also my carbs. I feel better but I am always hungry! I don't know what I am doing wrong. Here is what I ate today, any thoughts?
Bfast Dunkin donut egg white wake up wrap Banana
Morning snack 1 container of ff vanilla yogurt with a sprinkling of kelloggs granola cereal
Lunch Salad w ff poppyseed dressing Hamburger - 93 percent lean with a little part skim mozzarella stuffed in (no bun) 1.5 cup of watermelon
Afternoon snack One serving ff French vanilla yogurt with sprinkling of granola Baby carrots

Re: Why am I so hungry?
I would incorporate more protein as a snack such as cottage cheese or a boiled egg or plain yogurt. Vanilla yogurt and granola have a lot of sugar and i find that it causes my hunger to come back as opposed to high protein snacks. An alternative to your vanillla yogurt/granola combo would be a 0% Greek yogurt with Kashi Go Lean Crunch (lower in sugar and high in protein cerael) HTH

I would increase the amount of protein you are eating.

Agreed. Ditch some of the carbs including the DD wrap if you can!

Re: Why am I so hungry?
I am a vegetarian and limit my dairy as well, so i often have a hard time finding filling foods. Some foods that help me stay full are:
Nuts (almonds, peanut butter, walnuts) Beans (maybe black kidney beans on your salad) Maybe some hummus or peanut butter with your carrots?
Some of these are high in (good) fats, so just eat them in small quantities. They are filling though!
I know you are cutting carbs, but some are good. Try quinoa, it is filling and also a complete protein.
Good luck!

Re: Why am I so hungry?
I would switch out the DD wrap. I don't find fast food wraps/sandwiches to be very nutritious or filling. Also instead of the yogurt with granola, why not try greek yogurt (I usually cut up strawberries or bananas and put it in). It will keep me full for about 2 hours!

Re: Why am I so hungry?
great advice here. Also, increase the veggies.
For instance, I have an egg white omelet with tons of veggies and one pc of wheat toast. Then I have watermelon and a banana.
Lunch is a veggie rollup.
snack is more fruit and nuts.
Dinner always has at least half of my plate full of veggies.

Re: Why am I so hungry?
here is what I eat- I am diabetic - so I eat very healthy and clean
pre-gym breakfast
either a whole wheat bagel flat with almond butter (grind it myself at whole foods) or fiber 1 80 calorie ceral
post gym- 3 egg whites with low fat mozzerla cheese and turkey (sometimes peppers depending on my sugar)
lunch- salad with chicken, cucumbers, tomato, pepers , avacado and low fat chsee
apple- small
carrots and hummus
mid afternoon snack- 100 calorie pack of almonds
dinner- protein- chicken normally
and a veggie
(a sweet potato if my sugar is low- regular veggie is my sugar is higher)
other snacks I have
low fat string cheese with a piece of turkey
I really have to watch my carbs b/c I take so little insulin- but I prefer it this way
I look better then I have ever looked before and I have plenty of engery

I agree. You should measure EVERYTHING a little bit of cheese means nothing in terms of nutrient content. I would also try to pair a carbohydrate/sugar with protein for example and apple with peanut or almond butter.

Thanks ladies! Today was a lot better, though next time I need to add something to the watermelon for snack.
Dinner tonight is grilled chicken marinated in terriyaki sauce with a little brown rice. yum!
