UPDATE anyone know how I go about making a complaint about a neighbor's noisy party?

They have a live band playing in their yard tonight and it's so friggin loud I'm having trouble hearing my tv on high volume. And from past experience this will go on till midnight. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Who do I call? Police? Head of town? It's town of Hemptstead. Will I have to give my name? I hate doing stuff like this. Don't want to make enemies. But enough is enough.

I am not sure what your town ordinances are but in general 9 pm is not "late enough" for a party to be shut down. I would call the cops at 10 if it is still bothering you.

Call your local precinct, not 911, but wait until after 10pm.

I think they have until 11pm then if they are still loud you can call the police....and if its the 5th pct you are in ...Good Luck getting somebody.....

Funny wonder if we in the same neighborhood? lol My neighbors have a band going too! There are three houses that do this once each every summer. They have till 11pm before you can do anything. (Im in Ronkonkoma)

Call the cops... You don't have to give your name. And you probably won't be the only one calling them...

I called around 10:15. Cops came around 11. No music since. Thanks all.

Just in case anyone doesnt know 852-COPS is the non emergency # for Suffolk County. Not sure where you're at. Glad its quiet now.

That's great that they responded so quickly. There was a party going on last week on my block with a live band, dj and about 75 people in the backyard going on until 3:30 in the morning and they only stopped because of the thunderstorm. We called the cops 3 times from my house alone since 11pm. Its infuriating

Must have been something in the air last night because we had the same problem with neighbors last night too.

The music was going until 4 am this morning. All the neighbors were calling the cops all night and the minute the pulled away the music was loud again.
