BFing question...aspartame
Sorry, it's been 4 years, I feel like a rookie all over again.
Can i have aspartame or other sweeteners when BFing? Of course all of my BFing books are packed away and I don't have the energy to find them

I would try to avoid it if possible. I know it exists in low calorie foods, and when I was BFing, I needed all the calories I could get, so I never opted for low cal stuff. I don't think having it in small doses is problematic though...

my doctor recommended i avoid it, both during pregnancy and while bf. i just switched to real sugar.

I can't live without my diet pepsi. I BF my oldest until she was 10 months and still EBF my youngest at 11 months.
Both me and my doctor believe everything in moderation.

I try to avoid it too....although I have had a few diet cokes and enjoyed every sip! I just stay away from low cal foods with fake sugar.
