Those who's DCs take/took a paci
I have no idea what to do here cause Emerson despised a paci and never took one. Peyton is a little over 4m old. She lovessss her paci. She falls asleep with it of course however, the moment it falls out she wakes up screaming for it. What do I do? This goes on ALL night. I swear I think it's every 20min lol I'm completely exhausted. She was swaddled up until a week ago and she was STTN. she was breaking out and rolling so I stopped. Since then she's been squirming and moving all around causing the paci to fall out and her waking up. Do I let her cry? Do I continue to get up every single time this happens?
Help

Maybe try the glow in the dark ones? If she was able to find it would she put it back in herself?
Or they have those ones that have stuffed animals attached

Ohhh yes, when C was between 4-6 months I would get up a few times a night and put it back in. Not fun. This too shall pass

Re: Those who's DCs take/took a paci
DS took a paci up until a week ago. I'll be honest, his crib looked like a paci factory. That way, he was always able to find one in the dark.

Ughh... I went through this! I honestly had no clue what to do! I started out the way you are....running in every 20 minutes. I put 1-2 additional in the crib HOPING if he lost one, he would find another. If you have a night light in the room and she can see a little... eventually she will look for it on her own and put it in. At some point with DS, it would fall out and it wouldn't wake him anymore. If on a rare occasion he does wake up, he finds it and sticks it in on his own. However, at 1 year... we still have screaming episodes if he can't find it! Except now, it is once every few weeks as oppose to every single night! I am dreading the day I take it away!!!! Good luck!

Ugh, same here. Eventually DD figured out how to find it and put it back in herself.

have you ever tried a wubbanub? it's one of those paci's with the animal attached. ally loves it and since around 4 months or so she's been able to get it back into her mouth on her own. i tried it b/c she had been literally projectile spitting the pacifier out of her mouth from sucking so hard. but the wubbanub seems to work, plus its sooo cute!

I would put 100 paci in her crib if it meant her putting it in herself lol but can she do that at 4m? She can take it out with her hands but not sure if she's coordinated enough to get it back in yet lol

I have seen these! Maybe I'll invest in one to see how it goes. But it only takes those soothie type ones right? She hates those and only likes the avent ones. Ugh

I really dont think he put it back in until after 5 months old, maybe even closer to 6 months? Put her in the crib with emerson, she'll put it back in for you!

yeah it does only take those b/c it's actually sewn into the mouth of the stuffed animal.

Re: Those who's DCs take/took a paci
When DS dropped the paci, I'd let him cry a bit, then help put it back in. Maybe it was mean, but he learned to hold on to it longer periods. It took about 3 days to stop him from dropping it too often, maybe 1-2 a night at most.
When I stopped swaddling, instead of putting it in his mouth, I'd put it in his hand and let him fuss to try to get it in. If he was very frustrated, I'd slowly guide it.

Re: Those who's DCs take/took a paci
Declan just turned 5 months and has been putting the paci in for about a month. I agree with giving her many to grab at.

Re: Those who's DCs take/took a paci
I remember going through that with DD. I was so sick of getting up a million times a night so I bought a bunch of pacifiers and put them around her so she would always be able to find one. But at 4 months, I don't think she was able to reach out for them, I think it was more like around 6 months.
