Had our first appt. with Dr. Brenner/Sheynken....

Hi Ladies....

So within the past week, DH and I have had our first appointments with Dr. Sheynken and Dr. Brenner. I got some negative feedback on here about Dr. Brenner and I just have to say that I REALLY liked him. There were a few comments that he wasn't the "hold your hand" type but in all honesty, I thought he was very warm and he took his time. He explained everything and seemed positive. During my exam, he told me literally EVERYTHING that was going to happen and even took the time to show me everything on my sono, my ovaries, showed me where it looked like I had recently ovulated, it was a really great experience. So I just wanted to put that out there that regardless of the outcome of all of this, he was so nice and completely opposite of what I expected.

We are dealing with male infertility so DH saw Dr. Sheynkin last week. I have to admit, it was all very scary and i'm terrified that DH's tests will come back with little or no sperm count (due to him being on chemotherapy for a while a few years ago). I just have to say, I will be DEVASTATED if that happens!!!!!

Both Dr.'s set us up with a bunch of bloodwork which we will do next week and then they will try to determine if any of this will be worth it depending on DH's results.

So please please please PLEASE pray for us!!!!! I want this more than I want the air that I breathe. I can't even explain how terrified I am and DH is panicking and freaking out about all of these tests and the "what ifs" now which is making it worse. I'll go into more of that in another post. Just wanted to put my experience out there since i'm new. Hoping for some prayers, please pass them along.

i also went to Dr. Brenner for the first time a few weeks ago and we also got a good vibe from him. He explained everything very clearly and even joked around with DH (which really helped DH to relax) One of the nurses there was absolutely the best, i started to freak out - everything just hit me being there and she was so kind. calmed me down and really said some nice things to me.

I like Dr. Brenner a lot. I didn't agree with some of the posts about him, as well. But I acknowledge that everyone has different experiences. We too are dealing with male IF due to chemotherapy and radiation treatments from years ago and are currently going through our 2nd IVF cycle with Dr. Brenner. Thank you both I was so nervous to post because i'm just terrified with this whole experience. I don't know what to expect and am afraid to get excited but I need all of the prayers and support I can get. I have only told one person IRL about this and won't be telling anyone else. Just knowing that someone else is going through this already makes me feel less alone. I am praying wholeheartedly for all of us.

My boss did IVF with Dr. Brenner and gushes about how wonderful he was. Good luck!!
