FMOTW- QOTD 9/6

First of all- thanks Laura for choosing me!! Although I was already the FMOTW I'll do it again (if anyone who wasn't FMOTW would like the honor just let me know and you can have the title!)

In the meantime, I'll ask some questions...

Are there any sports/hobbies you would love to see your future children take part in? What activities do you think you will sign them up for?

DH always played baseball so he would love a little baseball or softball player. Growing up I did cheerleading so I would love a cheerleader. I would also like to sign our future son/daughter up for swimming lessons (since I never learned how to swim as a kid).

I don't know about a girl, but if I have a boy, I would love a football player!! I love football, and I would love to cheer him on! However, there are no athletes in my family, so IdK if he will get any athletic genes lol

Id love to have my kids in softball/baseball. I have some of the fondest memories with my family cheering me on in little league softball.

This is a huge battle for dh and I. I grew up playing all sorts of different sports. I was a college athlete in both ice hockey and softball. Dh has zero interest in sports. I coach girls hockey now and hope my kids share my love of the ice. Dh is hesitant because he doesn't want to force our children into activities.

He cannot wait to be a cub scout leader though! !!

If we have a little girl, I'd LOVE for her to be a dancer. I was a dancer all my life, and I'd love to be a "dance mom" If we have a boy, I'm sure DH will want him in football and possibly wrestling. Most likely however, no matter if we have a boy or girl, DH will definitely want our kids in martial arts.

DS is already in swimming, and he must stay in swimming until he reaches Jr Life guard status. This will be for all my future children.

They all will have to take a martial arts as well. Other then that, I will let them choose. But they have to stay active in some sort of activity.

Great question.

DH and I are sports people so we would be happy if our DC played any/all sports.

I think that I would be a little sad if we had a child interested in music/the arts/dancing since that is so foreign to us; but I'm sure we'd still support him/her just the same.

Ice skating! I love figure skating-if we can afford it; i definitely want to put my future daughter (if i have one) in it. And dance! Love dance so she'll have to as well!

As far as a son; I'd like to see him play baseball and swimming. But I'm not really big on any other male sports so that will be up to his dad!

DH is really into baseball/little league, so I am sure our kids will be. I was a dancer, so maybe dance for girls.
I pretty much will encourage them to do whatever they show an interest in!

I want band geeks (since I was one!), and DH wants athletes, so we've agreed they can try both and see which one they like better or which one suits their skillset. Personally I feel like playing an instrument helps your attention span and builds character, it's competitive without being in your face like some sports (again this is coming from a former band geek lol)

ETA: I'd also want my kids to be in girl scouts or boy scouts. I never made it past being a brownie but I think the 'scouts are a great organization to stick with

I would want them to take up martial arts, I did it for 5 years and really did help with discipline and commitment.
