Bike - Two Wheeler recommendations
DH received a raleigh girls bike from a client whose grand-daughter had outgrown it and it was barely used. DD thinks we bought it for her!! The problem is that I think its really , really heavy and I wonder if she will have trouble getting speed up if we try to take the training wheels off.
Are all bikes for this age heavy? if not can you share your rescomendations please? If I thought her bike was too heavy then we would buy her a new one.
Thanks

Re: Bike - Two Wheeler recommendations
NO, all bikes are not that heavy. My son has an expensive bike that is light, but we brought that for him because we ride 8-10 miles as a family and he was having trouble going that far on his heavier bike. But honestly to learn to ride a bike, I would not worry about the weight. I would use a hand-me down at least to learn to ride. My son had two hand me down bikes before he got his new one and was off training wells, for a couple of years. It is easier for them to learn to ride on a smaller bike.
