I posted about double strollers last week and now I have a question for mom's who didn't use one...
If you had at least a 2.5/3 year difference between your two kids and didn't buy a double stroller, what did you do?
I know in the supermarket you can just put the older one in the top of the basket and the car seat in the basket. Now, what if you go to the mall? There is no way my DS will walk next to me at all times. Even if he did, he gets tired and is a slow walker.
Just trying to decide what to do. TIA!!

After buying SEVERAL double strollers and realizing fact that my DS would terrorize the baby--- I found the ONLY thing that worked was a stroller board. I had a single Graco Metrolite and I bought a Lascal Kiddie board Maxi at BBB that attached to the back where DS could stand and hold on to the stroller handle. He would hop on and off as needed and it was alot of fun since it was kind of like a skateboard. He loved it and it worked great for us. And it was fantastic, becuase when you weren't using the board, you'd just fold it up and clip it to the basket AND I only needed the one stroller!!

i bought a sit-n-stand and used it maybe 5 times before giving it away...
DD#1 just walked. i didn't go places that required lots of walking, and DD#2 was born in the winter so by the time we were out and about DD#1 was almost 3...

There's a great website about strollers that you should check out. It's called StrollerAdvisor.com, and it has information on the best sit and stand strollers. Check them out athttp://www.stroller-advisor.com/best-sit-and-stand-strollers.html
Good luck!

I have no experience but my neighbor has had a tag along stroller like this and loves it...
I'm not sure if it's the baby trend one (I know for sure it's not the pattern in this pic and I cannot find it online). I could swear that she put the infant seat in it when #2 was born and that she'd mentioned it had another full seat that went in over the bench. Her kids are now 7 and 2.5 and they still use it for walks around town and to local parades and such.

for the supermarket I try to go to shop rite when i can because older DD can use the kiddie cart and push that herself and i put the baby in the snap and go and use the bottom part of that along with dd's cart for groceries. I have also put the baby in the bjorn and DD rode in the cart. otherwise i use the sit and stand.

When DS#2 was born, we didn't buy a double stroller right away. We got the lascal board (universal board that attaches to any stroller). We wanted to see if we needed a double stroller.
I think it really depends on your lifestyle. Our boys are 2 years apart. Older DS likes to walk but eventually gets tired. Then one of us needs to carry him. I like to take stroller walks. We walk all the time to the library, store, to nowhere...
If I'm home alone with the 2 of them and one or both kids get whiny, I stick them in the double stroller and go out on a walk. Then both kids relax and everyone is happy.

I don't have a double stroller & they are exactly 2.5 years apart. My oldest loves to walk & is great at holding the stroller out in the mall. In the supermarket she either walks, or if I only need a few things (or in stores with big carts like BJs) she sits in the main part.
There are times, like at the zoo, where I wish we had a stroller, but it's good exercise for her, even if we do have to walk a little slower. If she truly needs a break, often my younger is happy to come out, so they switch.
I'm still thinking about looking into the universal attachment?

Ditto for me. I also feel like I didn't go out alone with them for awhile in the beginning so that helped too.
